In this new year, before y’all rush into making some random flashy “resolutions” I just want you to ask yourself one simple question: “Am I really happy?”
In this white-collar world of poverty, terrorism, espionage, famine, floods, droughts, suicides, jealousy, hatred, lies, meaningless competitions, and whatnot where everyone are constantly being judged and evaluated based on looks, marks, caste, community, nepotism, money and other such idiotic scales, for most of us the answer is fairly straightforward. Despite the never-ending number of phases we go through, we never seem to realise the importance of one resource in particular, our time on this planet. It is very limited and we just go around wasting it only to regret it in our senior years.
So this year, resolute to just Live and desire to be your own self, the real self. Aspire to do what you really want rather than just because of some random, meaningless obligations. Read a book, workout, travel, try new stuff, learn new cultures, learn a new language, try new food, build a new habit, meet new people, go on dates, make new friends, communicate, do whatever it is that YOU really want and try to live in the moment, be passionate and don’t tell anyone about it, show them in actions. Make your own self your first priority, for once. People will always judge no matter what. Rather be a mystery for the world to solve. Let go of Yesterday. Let Tomorrow be a surprise. Embrace the Now. Never hold back. Never regret anything.
As Mark Twain says,
“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowline. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover”
Loved the Mark Twain line at the end. I think it’s interesting because I chose to follow that line in my life. 🙂
Exactly what people need to realise. Good that a vast idea is expressed with such less words. It makes a huge impact when such vast ideas are made crisper, one gets more and more clear about the idea him/her self. Keep going. All the best.
